License Fees

*Proof of rabies is required upon licensing.

Senior citizen owners $25.00 per dog, lifetime license(age 60 years +) Non transferable to another dog. Available for altered dogs only

All other owners $10.00 per dog if spayed or neutered $20.00 per dog, if unaltered

3 Year spayed or neutered $25



Licenses can also be done over the phone, by mail or faxed (801) 829-0605. Must provide valid rabies certificate.

Late Fees:

City: $10.00 per dog after Jan. 31st
County: $30.00 per dog after Jan. 31st

Duplicate Tag: $3.00 each tag

Impound/Kenneling Fees

$25.00, per dog for the first time in a 12 month period

$50.00, per dog for the second time in a 12 month period

$100.00, per dog for third time in a 12 month period

$25.00 per day/per dog

Kennel License

(for more than 2 dogs)

Granted by Morgan City Council for city residents and Morgan County Council for county residents. Application must be made through the Planning and Zoning Department. Renewal fee of $25.00 due every year at licensing time. Each dog within the kennel must also be individually licensed annually. Kennels are subject to random inspection.

Additional Information

Surrender an animal/pet: $50.00 for dogs

Animal Ordinance – you can view a copy at the Sheriff’s Office or you can obtain your own copy from the Clerks Office for a fee.

Microchipping your dogs is now available  $30.00 * Call for an appointment.
