Duties and Responsibilities - The County Recorders Office maintains all land records for Morgan County and reference indexes to these records. The Recorder's Office is also required to maintain plat maps which show the current ownership of every tract of land in the entire county for public inspection. Copies of land records and/or plat maps may be purchased in our office. The Morgan County Recorders office serves also a depository for survey plats which are required to be filed with the County Surveyor. Survey plats filed after April 30, 2001 are also available for public inspection during office hours. Contact the office for availability of survey plats filed before April 30, 2001

SOME OF THE THINGS THE RECORDER'S OFFICE DOES:
- Record, Store and retrieve land documents in the public record
- Assist the public in locating records.
- Assist the public in locating real property parcels on ownership plat
- Sell Copies of documents for a fee.
- Provide copies of documents for a fee.
- Record Military Discharges and provide certified copies of the documents at no charge
- Provide certified copies of documents for a fee. These may be recorded in the office of any other County Recorder in the State. (Utah Code 17-21-4, 57-3-4)
- Record, Store and retrieve land documents in the public record
SOME OF THE THINGS THE RECORDER'S OFFICE DOES NOT DO:
- Prepare, notarize or interpret legal documents.
- Interpret legal documents
- Give legal advice.
- Research the records over the telephone.
- Perform title searches for the public
- Provide engineering services for the public
Recorder’s Office does not provide any type of forms for recording
